Building an unprecedented global celebration of Hoosier spirit, philanthropy and digital engagement at Indiana University

IU Day was Indiana University’s first-ever, worldwide day of giving and engagement, spearheaded by the Indiana University Foundation.

As part of the IU Day team I coordinated:

  • Outreach strategies to engage local and regional community partners and notable IU alumni in IU Day activities

  • Publicizing IU Day to local media partners via press releases, media advisories and other materials

  • Internal communications that engaged IU Foundation staff in the 24-hour celebration

  • IU Day communications plans, toolkits and key messaging for IU’s eight regional campuses

  • Fact-checking and proofreading of digital marketing collateral to engage audiences in IU Day

In just 24 hours, we achieved…

  • 9.4 million organic reach on social media

  • #IUDay trended nationally on Twitter

  • $11.2 million raised in 2016

  • $12+ million raised in 2017

  • Inspired more than 45 IU Day celebrations on five continents
